The Entrepreneur's Tool Gap: Why I Build Systems for the Underserved

Every entrepreneur deserves professional-grade tools, not just the ones who can afford enterprise solutions. Here's why I build systems for the underserved.

"The best solutions should be available to the people who need them most, not just those who can afford them."

I didn't start Sparks Media Studios because I wanted to be another vanilla media buying freelancer. I started it because I'm tired of seeing entrepreneurs and teams limited by tools that don't scale with their potential.

Here's the truth that most software companies don't want to admit: The gap between enterprise and entrepreneur access is real and limiting to a degree that actively harms business growth.

The Access Hierarchy Problem

The business software industry has created an invisible hierarchy that determines what you can access based on your company size, not your potential or needs. I see this pattern everywhere: Enterprise level gets full features with unlimited access and dedicated support, mid-market gets most features with reasonable limits, small business gets limited features with restrictive limits, and startup/solo entrepreneurs get crippled features with severe limits and no support.

This hierarchy doesn't just limit your capabilities—it limits your growth potential. When you're starting out, you need the same professional capabilities as established companies, but you're given limited features with basic support that doesn't grow with your business.

Building for the Individual, Serving All Teams

I build solutions that serve the individual first, regardless of company size. The person doing the work matters and so does their work. Why not make them more successful?

The Traditional Media Buying Access Gap

In traditional media buying specifically, the access gap is particularly glaring. Most solutions are built for agencies with dedicated teams and large budgets, but don't serve solo media buyers who need to compete with agencies, small teams that handle multiple clients, and entrepreneurs who need professional capabilities.

The worst part? Traditional media buying platforms don't evolve, leaving teams with workflows that can't handle modern challenges across TV, cable, radio, out-of-home, and print. The information needs to be where you're working to take hold, but most platforms keep data siloed and workflows fragmented.

My Approach: Custom Workflow Solutions

Instead of building another off-the-shelf media buying solution, I create custom workflow platforms built specifically for your needs, regardless of your company size.

For individual media buyers, I build solutions that adapt to your workflow to make a difference in your day.

For small teams, I build tools with features that unblock workflows.

For enterprise teams, I create integrations to make a difference in your efficiency, communication and productivity.

The key is creating a shared source of knowledge that expands across your entire team, with data points in a single source of truth that everyone can access and act on.

Here's What I Actually Do

Last week, I spent 3 hours manually cross-referencing TV ratings data across 5 different platforms because none of them talk to each other. That's 3 hours I could have spent on strategy or client work.

I registered Sparks Media Studios on June 4th. By July 8th, I was building custom automation software while on vacation because I needed them immediately. My kids had baseball tournaments, hence the delay, but the workflow problems couldn't wait.

I developed 50% of my first media buying automation in 24 hours because I needed it. Most media buyers can't do that - they're stuck waiting for software companies to build what they need.

When I worked with a small agency last year, they were using spreadsheets to track $350k in media spend because the 'enterprise' tools were too expensive and the 'small business' tools were too limited.

I don't just complain about the tools - I build better ones. When a workflow doesn't work, I write custom software to solve it. When data is siloed, I build connections between systems. When processes are manual, I build software to automate them.

The Competitive Advantage

Building solutions that serve everyone, regardless of company size, isn't just about fairness—it's about competitive advantage.

The right tools let you compete on capabilities, not price. You scale without proportional cost increases. You focus on growth, not tool management.

The wrong tools force you to compete on price. You hit growth ceilings imposed by your software, not your potential.

The Future

This is why I build Sparks Media Studios: to serve entrepreneurs and teams who deserve better tools, to create systems that scale with growth, not budget, and to build the future of entrepreneurship, one solution at a time.
